Protected Area Technician (PAT) Scholarships


Applications for the first round of 2026 PAT Scholarships are now closed.

Thank you to everyone who applied! We received hundreds of applications and are carefully reviewing each one. If you are shortlisted, you will be contacted in January 2026 for an online interview. Good luck! 

Scholarships cover:

In-field practical training (20 places)

Networking with experts

  • Get help with your career pathway
  • Build valuable industry connections
  • Meet others who advanced from technician to technical manager to future conservation technology leader

A two-month internship (5 places)

  • Selected via an internship interview, following a practical exam
  • Hosted at a partner-protected area
  • Training, transport, accommodation, and sustenance for the full duration
  • A chance to work directly with leading conservation technicians, solving real-world challenges 
  • Living on-site, gaining real-world experience
  • Starting Q2, 2026 (April, May, June)

How do I apply?

  • Applications are now closed. 
  • You must be enrolled in the PAT course and complete the course before the practical starts (If you haven’t enrolled yet, start today and earn your certificates).

Winners announced: January 2026

All applications will be reviewed by CCF’s technical experts. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to a 30-minute interview. For internship finalists, selection will include a written exam following the in-field practical session. Please see the T&C's below for information on eligibility criteria.
